Cui realized that not only is every action in people's lives meticulously documented by cameras and the naked eye, but also that intimate content like health data, heartbeat and sleep pattern data are closely scrutinized. Rhythms of Surveillance seeks to provoke contemplation. Viewers are confronted with the implications of living in an era where the line between the private and the public has blurred, and personal data has become a commodity. The title itself implies a duality - the rhythmic pattern of surveillance symbolizes not only the systematic examination of our digital footprint, but also the underlying harmony and interconnectivity between these data points. It invites the viewer to consider the delicate balance between the benefits of technological progress and the potential violation of personal privacy. Through a visual narrative, this project captures the nuances of surveillance in our lives, weaving a narrative that encourages the viewer to question the balance between the convenience of technology and the blurring of personal boundaries.
