IMPERFECTLY PERFECT
2024, 2025
As much as people wish to be in perfect control, unpredictability and lack of control are often the norm. Results that are far from what we expect are more common than those that are perfect. While pearls are inherently organized, perfect, clean and flawless, the use of man-made pearls confirms the phenomenon of artificially controlled perfection. Imperfectly Perfect simulates the moment when a chain of pearls breaks by using black frames and white pearls as the primary materials for this piece and captures the unexpected, irreversible moment. This visual effect will convey unpredictable change and provoke the viewer to think about the uncertainty and fragility behind perfection.
